Humanity Files
A documented archive of the moments when humanity failed humanity.
What This Is
Humanity Files examines war, empire, exploitation, persecution, institutional abuse, scientific misconduct, sexual exploitation, social breakdown, and the ideas used to justify them. It is built as a digital archive — closer to a declassified case file or a museum exhibition than a news site or opinion blog.
The site's central question: how did educated societies convince themselves that injustice was justice?Each File traces a chain from idea to interpretation to institution to policy to human consequence, and asks what happened, who suffered, who participated, what ideas justified it, what institutions enabled it, what evidence exists, what remains disputed, and what changed afterward.
What This Is Not
Humanity Files is not a tabloid, a conspiracy site, or a partisan campaign. It does not publish:
- unsourced accusations
- collective blame against entire ethnic, religious, national, political or philosophical groups
- conspiracy theories or guilt by association
- claims that someone committed a crime merely because their name appears in a document
- simplistic claims that a philosophy "caused" an atrocity without evidence
- invented citations, quotations, or casualty statistics

Scope
The project focuses on crises that occurred in the Western world, were committed by Western states and institutions, or developed through influential Western political, social, scientific, economic and philosophical systems. This is a deliberate editorial focus — it is not a claim that cruelty, exploitation or mass violence are unique to the West, and Humanity Files does not present it as one.
Editorial Standards
Every File is:
- evidence-first and heavily cited
- academic in rigor but written for a general reader
- respectful toward victims
- transparent about uncertainty, using explicit status labels
- neutral about disputed historical questions
- explicit about the difference between fact, allegation, interpretation, estimate, and opinion
Who Is Behind This
Humanity Files is an independent documentation project. It has no institutional, political or commercial sponsor, and carries no advertising. Questions, source suggestions, and corrections can be sent via thecontact page.
